Sheffield Wednesday (A) - FA Cup R5 Post-Match Thread

Very tedious game. Were they all still hungover?
We definitely looked jaded, which is understandable after winning a final only 72 hours before. There was only ever one team in it and thankfully it allowed us to control a game like that from start to finish and it was effectively a freebie that.

Slow admittedly, but difficult with a team playing 11 behind the ball and only hoping to lose by as low a margin as possible.

we are through despite trying to hand them a late equaliser by some sloppy play at the back
Boys must have been tired after Sunday
Mendy was generally very good
Kun was off the pace but still managed to net the winner
No-one was especially eye catching, just a generally forgettable match
Their big lad at the back was very good
...and some truly dreadful camera work from BBC, missing action whilst showing pointless replays, their ariel view of the ground (3 times) plus numerous crowd shots....take it seriously you clowns
Yep,the big lad at the back was superb, won loads of headers, good tackles and moved the ball well.

Well below our best but perhaps understandable after the weekend. Totally dominated the game and could easily have had 4 or 5 but once again very wasteful.

Into the next round though and that's all that really matters.

Reading these comments makes me glad I didn't miss much. Couldn't watch the game, but apparently job done, even if it was kind of shit.

We easily got through the tie a few days after celebrating a Cup Final win and I get the impression Pep allows his players to enjoy winning trophies. Nothing wrong with that performence at all, Newcastle at home next please.
