Sheffield Wednesday (A) - FA Cup R5 Post-Match Thread

Exactly, the BBC have to get their " people's Cup" nonsense in, radom shots of Fancy dress fatties and kids with toothless smiles and bobble hats, the match itself is irrelevant.
The shot of that bloke in a unicorn onesie texting, presumably his mum and obviously allowed out without adult supervision, summed it up.

Yeah Stewards and old bill great. Some of the Police were Derbyshire though...not Sth Yorks. Dragged in but not aggressive.

it really was sick, they nearly missed the 1st goal the night before through fuckin about like that, wtf are they trying to prove?

The bbc coverage was absolutely bizarre. Never seen anything like it. The cameraman must have been bored. Drone shots of urban Sheffield, pictures of loveable Yorkshire urchins wiping the soot from their brows, packhorses winding their weary way home up the weed strewn terraces. Jovial locals, pork sandwich in mit, waving at the camera. Anybloodything other than the sodding football. Mind you......
Hard to blame them last night. That game was not a great advert for "the beautiful game". Not helped by Wednesday's approach to it. But I guess you can't really blame them too much for going into "keep it respectable" mode.

They are trying to show the FA Cup is still relevant.

The Fa Cup is a shadow of its former self and is becoming irrelevant to most clubs, Premier league, Champions League and promotion for the Championships clubs far, far more important.

It’s a tradition. Back in the 70’s MOTD, in one of their occasional dips into the lower divisions, featured a Bradford City game. As was the norm, Grandstand carried out their half time round up that afternoon from Valley Parade. The views from Valley Parade were never better than “grim up north” and the cameraman spent the entire segment in a slow panoramic sweep of all the derelict mills. All that was missing was a caption saying “have you seen this?” It caused a hell of a fuss at the time, complaints to the BBC from the council, MPs etc.

The BBC still live in the 70s, Jim'll Fix it and all.

They should have been sent to the scrap heap decades ago.

we are through despite trying to hand them a late equaliser by some sloppy play at the back
Boys must have been tired after Sunday
Mendy was generally very good
Kun was off the pace but still managed to net the winner
No-one was especially eye catching, just a generally forgettable match
Their big lad at the back was very good
...and some truly dreadful camera work from BBC, missing action whilst showing pointless replays, their ariel view of the ground (3 times) plus numerous crowd shots....take it seriously you clowns
Totally correct pal ..cameras were very poor...ended up throwing my inflatable globe at the tele numerous of times
