Sheffield Wednesday on the brink… | Enter administration (p30)

What can they do? The owner is being an arse, but the EFL are powerless unless he's breaking the law. He might be breaking EFL rules of course, but any action taken would be against the club rather than against the owner. They can't force him to sell even if he's placing them in a position that means they can't field a side of first-team players.
Businesses are run into the ground but should a business which doesn't have real alternatives be treated as just another business?
Fair points.

Even a £40m valuation seems a bit generous given they have no stadium and no players if those players can leave on a free, especially if it looks as though a good few of them are likely to do just that. There can't be too much else there of any great value

Forgetting we can't put a team out at the minute, regarding stadiums I'd move to a new stadium in a heart beat.

Regardless of how old it is etc etc etc, it will always (and rightly so) be associated with that awful day in 1989.

For City fans who were Maine Road regulars now that you've been at the Ethiad for a long time would you prefer to be back at MR, and if so what is the reason, nostalgia?
Never missed Maine Road since the day we left but I think I'm in the minority. The place had become a small time dump.

The only thing I miss abot Maine Road is the atmosphere and even that had gone downhi since they tour down the old kippax. It became a mis-match of different stands. The Gene Kelly and son of Gene Kelly stands were a joke. Does anyone really miss those, or dog ahit alley or the bogs at the back of the kippax? The etihad is so much better.

Shout out to that t-shirt shop on the corner of Maine Rd/Claremont Road. That sold some great stuff. That I do miss.

Couldn't beat standing around in the snow & freezing cold in dogsit alley for hours from dawn or earlier to get a ticket for a game we'd be lucky to even score in while Test match special was on the radio and they were all moaning about the heat in Australia.

Kids today....click click click have no idea. ;)

The programme shop on Upper Lloyd St was a religion before every home game. I could afford 1 away programme about every month. The small WHU programmes were great because they didn't crease easily.

The Umbro stand summed Swales’s ambition up. The stadium we left in 2002 was an absolute embarrassment considering 3 of the stands had been redeveloped.

Bit like Old Trafford Cricket now, most of our Test grounds have been upgraded and look great ,where Lancashire, in my opinion looks shite, just like that other shithole next door.

It’s a cricket ground with a big red hospitality shed attached to it and a temporary stand down one side as they are more arsed about concerts than cricket.

There was a time when they’d not sell you an away programme with the front page on as this used to count as a token for your token sheet
And the home progs had a big black cross on their tokens
I got my first ever bit of city memorabilia from their in 1965 team photo in black and white

Yes they were great weren't they, I've still got a couple somewhere and literally fitted in your pocket without ruining them.

Sorry but the EFL has to do something in future to guard against this sort of shit happening the guy is a grade A loon trying to somehow get his losses back when there is no chance of it happening at all.
How many clubs have had this happen to them ( mine included) only for the powers that be to sit back and let it all unfold ???????
Hope Wednesday get it sorted decent fanbase on the back of years of fooking dross

its like death by a thousand cuts, awful to watch. Got mates who follow them and are fanatics, dare not call them,.

And maybe Morecambe someone said earlier, I hope neither turn out to be another Brighton where some turd sells the ground for a supermarket.

And Sheikh Mansours the bad guy?
In a nutshell pal they go after someone who has done so much good to the game .........while sitting back and allowing loons to destroys clubs its fooking madness

When you have a shite owner then the docking of points transfer bans escalates the club into a decline! I can’t get my head around when a club is struggling or they spend to much there answer is to dock points and guess what they go down they’ll be in more shit less money coming in some fans stop going more money lost!

I think Rangers are interested in the young keeper

I feel for you, mate. I truly do. The whole situation is nothing more or less than a piss-take.
