Sheffield Wednesday thread

Some fans believe Venkys to be the problem. Damned if they do, damned if they don't there.

My sister in law's sister works at blackburn on matchdays as a 2nd job.

Trust me, Venkys are the problem there.
I don't doubt the Venkys are the problem, but no bugger else will plug the gap. We used to chant "You'll be fucked when Walker dies" and it seems we were right.
It's a shame as I've seen some great City wins at Ewood.
But what do owners such as the Venkys get out of owning the club? It's hardly kudos when they're getting such grief for keeping the club afloat. Chansiri at Wednesday might be a different case as nobody has a positive thing to say about him.

prime retail estate if they force them out the ground.

Ewood is falling apart, loads of sections not even used now due to lack of repairs etc.

Yes love my away trips to blackburn, was always a good away

2 players gone in the past 48 hours, Djeidi Gassama to Rangers for £2.2m (any normal club in the championship would have got far more than that) and Anthony Musaba to Samsunspor for £800k.

And is if by magic the club has now started to engage again on the website/social media.

Players/Staff have alledgedly been paid May/June wages, not sure about HMRC and other outstanding debts.

And in a true Chansiri cash grab style we release next season's kit on sale tomorrow, at a bargain price of SEVENTY TWO FUCKING QUID!!!!

Our kits are made by Macron, in comparison with other teams who have the same manufacturer:

WBA = £59.99
Bolton = £60
Stoke City = £55

I know takeovers aren't quick but I've got a horrible horrible feeling that he's still gonna be here all next season.

Many sites still showing capacity of just over 31k with no mention of unused sections. It can't be that bad as it's been fully rebuilt (I think) in the past 25 years or so.

What percentage of the strip money goes to the club? If it’s still a hefty percentage it’s a way to get your money into the club.

At our worst Rangers were getting 4p in the £ from merchandise sales with the rest going to fat boy Ashley after he did a deal with Charles Green.

Kind of ironic the two owners that screwed Rangers were (Charles) GREEN and (Craig) WHYTE !!

Looks decent but how do they expect local fans to pay a day's wage for it?

I see what you did there :)

Why would someone whos family just randomly lie to me and others?

Hospitality sections at Ewood are falling apart.

Sections are blocked off from accessing.

The Supporters Trust has advised fans to boycott purchasing the shirt, and putting any money into the club when inside the stadium until he has gone. Shirts are not something I generally buy anyway but you just know they'll be people down at the club shop this morning handing over their money.

Chancer is hanging on like a turd stuck to the toilet bowl.

Ugh!

It's better than last season, but that's as far as I'd go. Also it has blue shorts, I prefer our kits when they have black shorts.

Good luck with the protests.

I hope your supporters group have ones that highlight your plight like the Charlton one with the tennis balls.

The media more likely to latch on to quirky protests.

We did that with the merchandise and it eventually worked and got the Spivs out but not before they bled our club dry.

Boycotting games was the most difficult. I hadn’t missed a game at home for over 15 years and not travelling hurt. Just to have our club back makes it all worthwhile. You’ll get there and hopefully we ll get another away day down at yours soon.

Today's highlights:

Sounds like the "alledged" takeover offer has fallen through, details are sketchy.
Danny Rohl may still leave, which may be due to the above. Has he come back as he thought we would have new ownership?

Morecambe F.C. facing extinction after 100 years. It will hurt the town as a whole if they go under.
And similar to us run by an absolute nutjob.

Jason Whittingham has history as well, he was the owner or Worcester Warriors Rugby team that was liquidated

As I mentioned previously:

"North Stand needs work before season start otherwise a safety certificate will not be issued"

SAG are meeting tomorrow and there's a real chance we will not get a safety certificate as he hasn't done the work needed. Of all the clubs that need to have a clean bill of health it's us.

Wednesday fans need to strap themselves in as the media will come for us all guns blazing (rightly so IMO)

Good luck. Always liked Wednesday for the name and the blue stripes, also for the evening a long time ago (so I might have this wrong) when I picked up a Football Pink on Market Street and saw that Wednesday had beaten the rags 7-2 in the F.A Cup.
