Clarke, at last someone has realised Chelsea success
Didsbury Dave said:Well we'll have to agree to disagree.
He can only fail in the Man United job in my opinon. I'm sure he wouldnt want them and I don't think they'd want him either.
We'll see at the end of the season. ;-)

But for City fans 30 and above, you would have to be quite closed-off not to acknowledge this man is the real deal.
It is about more than results with Mourinho. The other facets include the changing of a mentality throughout an entire club.
He gets everyone pulling in the same direction.
We were devisive as fans under Hughes, and now Mancini.
We are not winning any trophies any time soon, so I can see why the owners want Jose in terms of giving us the ultimate profile in terms of publicity, both good and bad, not to mention the attraction to another tier of player.
Nobody can really take what's in the paper's as face. Only Jose and City know the current score, in terms of his next move, our next move etc.
My own opinion is he is the right man in the right place at the right time.
Oh, and Steve Clarke looks like he might be out of a job soon, too!
I think you know something :-)

That's a hugely astute point. The "Likkle City" brigade irritate me as well, one or two are on this thread.
Is it the younger Blues, steeped in inferiority, having grown up with sneering reds all around them? It must start to seep in after a while.
Or is it people unable to see the "bigger picture"?
The "bigger picture" is that City is one of the most atractive jobs in world football now.
The bigger picture for City is way in the future, some people on here seem to think the rest of Europe now see us as one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Guess what, we're not, would Jose go to Sevilla? No, but they are 5th in a decent league.Didsbury Dave said:tolmie's hairdoo said:Doubters who say he would never entertain us, do get me down. And that is why Mancini, a three time La Liga winner came here. He would never have come here two years ago. That is why we got Mark Hughes.
It is not denigrating City to say that Mourinho wouldn't come here. The fact is Jose always will think he is bigger than any club he goes to. Modesty is not his thing. And that includes City, Liverpool, Real Madrid whoever.
By the way if he blows La Liga and fails to lift the champions league, would you consider his stock to have fallen?
Also interested to know if you would countenance a name your price offer for Guardiola, as his teams are infinitely more attractive to watch.

Or is it that some people have delusions that we can go and sign Messi, Torres, Gerrard etc and also get Mourinho as manager? Im not arguing its not one of the most attractive jobs in football, it clearly is, I just dont think Mourinho will come here, its an opinion, doesnt mean Im in a 'likkle City' brigade.

We got Mark Hughes when we were far from the most attractive job in the North WEst, never mind the world.
That's why we ended up with a sub-standard manager.
Mancini never won La Liga, but I think that was just an error on your part.
With regards to repalceing(or otherwise) Mancini, lets see where we stand at the end of the season. It's too early to call him an unqualified success or failure now.

There it is in a nutshell. "Likkle City".
It's not inconceivable we could have 3 of the 4 "delusions" you list by the end of this summer.
