Could you please name some City players who used to weat the No 10 on their Shirt.

I remeber Kun, Dzeko, Robinho, Abdoun, Sibierski, Goater. Before them I was too young !!!

Thanks a lot

Garry Flitcroft was the first PL City No 10. Going right back I think the numbers were worn on shirts after 1928, our record goal scorer in a season Tommy Johnson could have been one. Fred Tilson & Jimmy McMullan were other famous possible 10 wearers.

O course there weren't squad numbers until relatively recently so the person wearing the shirt could change from week to week. I've got Ray Goble's book that goes up to the early 1990's and gives every line-up together with the shirt number they wore for that game.

Some other notable players wearing it were Don Revie, Bobby Johnstone, Billy Spurdle & Johnny Hart in the 1950's, Alec Herd & Fred Tilson in the 1930's, Derek Kevan in the early 1960's and Gary Megson.

I liked Gary, he ended up playing for Coventry didn't he. Seem to have a mental image of him in sky blue with Peugeot as the sponsor.

Johnson is right. He gave up the shirt to Fred Tilson but took it back when Tilson left. McMullan wore the number 6 shirt as he usually played in the same side as Tommy Johnson.

That photo must have been took just before the start of the 71/72 season, standing only in the new North Stand and 33 league goals for Lee that season. Also when we won the league in 68 his number was 7.

You sure mate. I thought I had a season ticket in the North stand when it first opened. Definitely was sitting down (a few rows back from Helen).
Could be wrong, I'm partially stupid these days.

Seats were put in for the start of the 72/73 season Everton was the first game.
