Shirt No10

Do you know if the following wear the No 10?

Kazimierz Deyna
Paul Powers

I'm pretty sure I have seen both those 2 in 10. Kinky wore 7 I think in the Prem and then 10 below. Did we have a 10 when we were in the 3rd tier?
Didn't the Goat wear 10 as well?

Been scouting around on the old mcfcstats.com site set up by the late Steve Kay. The BM history section produced in conjunction with Gary James is generally better, but the way you can see the lineups listed all at the same time makes MCFC Stats better for this kind of query.

IIRC, there were no squad numbers when we were in the third tier (but there were the following season when we were back in the second tier). For the early games of the third-tier season Dickov had taken over Kinkladze's old number 10 shirt, but for most of the remainder oif the campaign, Dickov wore 9 and Goater wore 10. They then got those numbers as squad numbers the next season, and retained them for the rest of their time at the club, meaning that the Goat was our number 10 for over four years.

MCFC Stats suggests that Power was number 10 for a decent stretch of the 1979/80 season, while Deyna wore that shirt at the very end of 1978/9 in Asa Hartford's absence, and in the first couple of games the next season. Another notable figure who wore 10 for eleven games in the 1979/80 season after he returned from NY Cosmos was Dennis Tueart, though of course he wore 7 or 11 for most of his two spells at the club.

A couple from the mid-1980s whom people might have forgotten, as well. Gordon 'and Smith must score' Smith wore ten when he was top scorer in the 1984/5 promotion campaign. And Neil McNab tended to wear the number 10 shirt for several years.

Neil McNab used to wear No 10. Wasn't ge ?
Sometimes.... my favourite CITY player ,him and Paul Power, when we were shit.... :)

Has no one remembered George Smith? Scored 5 for us in a game v Newport. Our main scorer for several seasons after the war. Died not so long ago in his 90s.
