Shooting at Mandalay Bay Resort (Las Vegas)

Read Heller.

In the 2008 case District of Columbia v. Heller, the Supreme Court held that the "Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home."

Beyond that, I can't discuss.
Do you think an AR-16 is a useful tool for self defence in the home?

you will always be a subject of the Crown, I will always be a citizen of the US. You will always live your life expecting somebody to protect you, I will protect myself whatever it takes
You’d have protected fuck all if you were at that concert. You’d have had the opportunity to die at random like everyone else.

What a silly reply. You know full well that you (as the gun owner) are more likely to die if you’re carrying than not:

In 2009, the University of Pennsylvania conducted a study of over nearly 700 unique shootings and came to one very important conclusion: those carrying guns are 4.2 times more likely to be killed during an attack than those who are unarmed. It was a baffling conclusion that flew in the face of any basic logic — wouldn't having a sidearm actually prevent an intruder or an assailant from hurting you first?

So whilst you can point to one story here or one story there, the metadata suggests it’s simply not true on the whole.

I could tell you of all the times I’ve driven whilst over the limit and say I’m fine and I’m just better than the rest but you’d be right in thinking I’m talking bullocks and that the data would suggest I put myself and other road users at greater risk doing so.

Frightening thing is when we come out of Europe I see an even closer association with America which to me is a frightening prospect

How many home owners with guns have actually protected themselves I wonder, I’m sure if someone is intent on breaking into your house they too will have a gun or weapon, how many home invasions are thwarted by home owners having guns? Are they really a deterrent to the smack head who wants to break in? Because in non of these mass shootings have any by standers brought the gunman down, it’s the police.

Hey @chicagoblue23 thanks for bringing a different perspective to the gun control debate. Quick question. If someone owns a gun and they die is ownership of the gun transferred to their heir? Are there any checks done on that person? Thanks

If you're interested in making a quick profit, buy shares in whoever manufactures the guns he used.

After the kids got shot at, a Texan boss of mine went out and purchased the same semi automatic rifles usedat Sandy Hook...I shit you not.

There will be a large swathe of fucking lunatics stroking their chins and quietly impressed by this performance.
That’s a very scary thought.... the Coccoon set who have lived their life and have nothing to lose... they get notoriety or their 15 minutes of fame

I'd take CA over I Drive all day, every day. Daytona is much nicer than it once was. Go down south, beachside towards New Smyrna, for some peace and quiet, but also be aware that stretch of beach is a shark haven! Google and YouTube will provide evidence!
I’ll do that... to be honest we have a soft spot for Daytona.. it seems old school which is like the I Drive I First visited in 1987..

Our place is at the bottom of I Drive closer to the Premium Outlets so away from the commercialism further up.. we go there these days to relax as we have done all the sights... we’ll occasionally do a park and only last year did Harry Potter for the first time which was amazing..

It won’t put be off holidaying there but a secondment is a different story
