The old corn exchange with it's quicky shops and second hand stalls
WOW thats not disimilar to a pub that my mate used to own in the Midlands only the tram lines went right through the outside veranda, which showed the original stop off point, right outside the front door to his pub.Where abouts was the Grapes LB ?What happened to a pub called The Grapes, which used to be on Deansgate, I think? Interesting pub because there was in effect a footpath running right through it.
Yep, always got cheap levis with the red reject stamp on the label.Used to love going to Stolen from Ivor's at top of the underground market..it always had the latest fashions..
Is that where you used to have to go to get all tickets in advance for gigs at the Free Trade Hall, by any chance?
Yes it did. Rare Records, that was it, couldn't remember the name before.Did it have listening booths? My sister was a big soul fan and she used to drag me down there.
Ah right.I only ask as likewise virtually everyone I`ve asked doesn`t remember this place but it was on the left hand side just around the corner from Vicky Station.Couldn’t tell you mate, don’t think I shopped there. Be interested to know the name though.
Well say thank you to Oakie. ;)Yes it did. Rare Records, that was it, couldn't remember the name before.
