Shortage of cooking oil

If you read my post, I said that it could be an actual benefit to the otherwise dismal world of trade deals with Papua New Guinea et al. Not that it happened because of Brexit.

Actually, it was meant as a light-heated post rather than a serious suggestion that we should cook with animal fats. To be honest, I wasn't expecting a response at all.

Just been to sainsburys. No issues with sunflower, rapeseed and others. All depends on whether selfish panic buyers are out in force.

We have half a bottle and it will last until June I bet. A splash when we make a stir fry or a pasta sauce maybe once a week. On the telly celebrity chefs dump half a bottle of oil, a tub of salt and pepper, into all their creations. In reality nobody at home needs to be doing that.

Just to be safe I bought an olive tree though. Playing the long game ;)

What does anyone need cooking oil for urgently unless deep fat frying.

Butter or pork fat will do the job

Spare a thought for @Magicpole and the scottish, who without oil to deep fry everything will have to live on porrodge, iron bru and shortbread in these times
We are at this very moment preparing to invade you cunts and take it all.

Panic buying to return for those items.

they can limit the sales to 1/3 items etc but so easy for them to pay and walk back in the shop. Or just go to another one.
