I can't believe that despite the ridiculous amount of attention this whole incident has had I've yet to hear any media outlet criticise the arsenal fans. Apparently football hooliganism is acceptable if a former player runs the length of the pitch to celebrate, i wonder what the official distance is at which a player needs to go to invoke the hooliganism is unavoidable card!
I read today how a city steward was knocked unconscious by a thrown chair, not one mention of pinpointing the hooligans and getting them banned from every ground in the country, oh no, We should probably try and find this brave, decent man who took the only action any reasonable football fan would, and ask him to become an ambassador for our world cup bid.
I seem to recall the young west ham striker Stanislas celebrating a little over zealously to the Milwall fans in what was a slightly heated environment. There wasn't quite the clamour for a ban then. It's all about media hysteria and unfortunately people are scared that we're gonna break up the big 4 cartel and they don't like it. Players celebrating to opposing fans happens every week the only difference in this case was: the distance Ade ran to do so, which is really quite an irrelevant fact, it's either okay or it isnt to taunt the opposition. The second difference was the arsenal fans reaction, most fans scream a torrent of abuse back and that's it, these cockney thugs attempted to get onto the pitch and attacked our groundstaff. Absolute disgrace!
