Should Spurs Be Allowed To Play A FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley.....

On a related issue.... Spurs have had a bit of luck with the FA Cup draw in the last few years. In the last two years they have been drawn against: Villa (h), Wycombe (h), Millwall (h), Chelsea (semi), AFC Wimbledon (h), Newport (a), Rochdale (a) and potentially Sheff Weds or Swansea (a).

Wouldn't we have the ticket problem with all the big London clubs - arsenal will have a lot more than us for the final next week.

On the other hand, imagine how pissed off the spurs season ticket holders will be who can't get a ticket at their 'home' ground for a cup final

Yes.

That will always be the case for a cup final at Wembley, unless we play a Wigan again.( but win next time)

It was the same against the Rags, and will be for Chelsea as well.

Hence why the National Stadium should have been built near Birmingham.

But that was never going to be allowed to happen.

Neither of the semi finals should be played at Wembley,it’s slightly tarnished the cup growing up the semi finals where always at neutral venues,be it Hillsborough,Old Trafford,Goodison, anfield and so on..

While I've no doubt you're right, the justification always was the cost of building it, having to have every possible game there. Yet with Spurs taking it, then Chelsea, it really shouldn't apply.

The Rags are looking at some stadium improvements bigger capacity and more sheep pens , maybe they can rent Wembley for a season whilst the work is completed it would be handy for their supporters :)

If a London club is redeveloping and goes into an agreement to use the stadium then that’s it.

If any objections were felt then representations to this should have been made at the time.

To retrospectively call out the perceived advantage for this seems a bit lame.

You would beat them anywhere and other clubs just need to get on with it.

Years ago we had to play at Hampden while our stadium was rebuilt, Rangers fans started to moan about the same thing, totally forgetting they fucking used it when their ground was done up.

I was living with a journalist at the time and one of her colleagues from the sport section tried to have a go at me about us using Hampden. I wiped the fucking floor with the fat ****, had everybody pissing themselves at him as he tried to widen out the argument by mentioning my tie. He had a Versace one on but crumbled when I told him and the pub that Versace was almost the sole preserve of gay men and did he secretly fancy me.

Most of the journos up here are Rangers men and over the years when I was with her I argued like fuck with them en masse many times.

They all thought I was a cheeky ****. I wasn’t I just was brighter and better looking and going out with someone I knew they all fancied.

I do love an argument when outnumbered. Focuses my mind.

As I said don’t worry about the stadium and don’t wear Versace ties when you’re arguing.

Just had a quick scan of the rules and it doesn't say the Semi's have to be played at a neutral ground, "The venue of each match (save for the Semi-Finals or Final which will be played at venues selected by the Professional Game Board)"

Deem them automatically the away team, dressing room, stands, etc.

It won’t matter anyway as we’ll play the rags in the final with the BBC giving them all the advantages such as a 17:30 kick off to stop us getting home by train.
