Should we shoot more?

We had 14 shots on target yesterday, most of which were blocked with last ditch defending. Any other game we would have easily scored 3 or 4. Bad day at the office, we're still well in this, and we keep our heads high and move on.

But their keeper only made two saves and our new striker has only had two shots in two games.

Sporting Life's stats are all very well because they make teams, who have shit shots blocked that were never going to trouble anyone, look like they have pummelled the goal with shots when they haven't.

At the end of the day, we are not creating enough real chances and we seem to be insistant on scoring the 'perfect' goal. It's a criticism that is often aimed at Arsenal and it is becoming true of us.

Sometimes, just the weight of numbers provides you with chances, a shot from distance might not look likely to get you a goal but one slight deflection or a parry from the keeper could fall at your striker's feet and it's in.

You don't get extra points for the build-up so let's just be a little bit more direct and start working the opposition goalkeeper more.

any honest villa fan would tell you how good city were yesterday, i always felt if we had got one a bagfull was waiting?
