Should we try and buy the Stadium from the Council?

It depends how the FFP assessment is calculated, wouldnt it save us the £3-£4 million a year you quote and allow us to sell the naming rights for a huge sum to some middle eastern company?

Stadium stuff isn't included in FFP, you can invest as much as you like into your ground and it doesn't matter. Getting naming rights for 1 million won't be too bad though, Arse managed to get £100 mil out of Emirates.

Spending 100 million+ to save 3 million a year makes no financial sense at all. Naming right are a seperate issue even if we bought it we would still have to negotiate with sports England And the council on a separate basis to change the name as it was built and funded with tax layers money. We are doing this anyway.

3 million is less than 3% of our budget it is nothing at all. Not a club in england have a deal like we have with the coms. We already have the super casino land they have been preparing it for building for the last 12 months wake up !

Financially there are no benefits to buying the stadium. Like for like it would take decades to regain the money in cost savings. There is just no need, the only reason to buy it would just to be able to say we own it which is stupid.

We now pay a flat fee to the Council anyway, our gate income is totally irrelevant. This points to a move by the club to regain as much turnover as possible for the FFP rules and also points to possible expansion.

The council get something like 50% of the gate receipts over 35,000, so it's a case of figuring out whether it's worth it.

The club's in league with the council to renovate the area, make a nice hotel a some classy restaurants to add to our turnover, so I'm guessing they're letting the council boys call the shots over the stadium to stay in their favour. I'm all for buying our own ground like, but maybe in a few years when we can spend our Champs League TV revenue on moar seats.

That is not so anymore. City now pay £3m per year and get all the gate receipts.

I very much doubt that our owners will invest in building a casino, gambling is a huge no-no for Muslims!

Not really. It's Islam that prohibits gambling.
Being a muslim doesn't mean one always doing all Islamic rules/laws.

I've seen muslims drink alcohol, drug, a corruptor, robber, thief, rapist, gambler, liar etc etc.

Lets face it business can be one big gamble, and where as Arab law and Muslin law might no allow gambling per se owning a casino so the great unwashed could throw their money away might not be too much of an issue. They have opened a Casino in Syria it seems.

Wouldnt there be other benefits to owning the stadium and surrounding areas, Such as simplified planning permission appilcations? I can see our future proposals getting bound up by council bureaucracy more easily if we are leaseholders.
