Myself and a few friends will be going to Shrewsbury early January or Feb and so was wondering if anyone knows which boozers and possibly an eatery which are best for a decent pint and not a spoons

Are you looking for oysters and morning champers or is it more of an evening soirée, a decent bottle of Rioja and a steak ?

Either way, your fucked in Shrewsbury.

The Armoury by the river is nice if weather is good, you can sit outside. Maybe not in winter though!

Personally I like the 3 fishes also, old pub.

There's an excellently rude side street name in Shrewsbury too, can't remember it off the top of my head, but it's along the lines of back scuttle street.

Edit, it's grope lane. Seemed dirtier when I was pissed and in the company of giggling tarts

if you just want to stop for a brew and a snack there is a place just off the old market called the Gallery tea rooms which is run by a blue

The Armoury was excellent when I ate there last December.

I used to live in Shrewsbury.

There are 2 pubs called the Wheatsheaf, both great. Henry Tudor House does good food. Three Fishes also good. Nag's Head on Wyle Cop also a good pint.
