Sick of getting my arse kicked at FIFA 11 by my son -Help!

Having major trouble myself on ps3,keep getting leathered, and am always City, but the mrs little lad is a rag,so you can understand my frustration.

Can see a controller being smashed to bits before to long, anymore help guys will be noted and appreciated !!!

Pass the ball around a bit, start from the back and draw his players in. To keep close control of the ball hold down LT and you can move in whichever way, although be careful on over using it.

You can flick the right analog stick to knock the ball in a direction in which your player will run in to, the best time to use this is when coming up directly against one or two players, or running down the wing to whip a cross in.
Y brings out your keeper.
There's a few more tips, such as if he holds down run quite a lot and he manages to get past you, use the LT trigger again which will send you in to a jockey position when you haven't got the ball (hold LT and RT for a running jockey) in which you can chase his player down without losing sight of the ball, also you can hold down (I think it's B I forget without the controller in front of me) to call over another player to give you a hand, but beware, by moving a player out of his position it creates more space.

If he dribbles out with a player, rush him with one of your own and slide him using x.
Also don't forget through balls are your friend, Y is the through ball button and lb and Y is a lob through ball. Don't be afraid to dribble yourself, by the sounds of it he wont be used to you attempting to dribble past his players so keep close control, don't constantly hold down run and throw him off by cutting in the field or to the wings.

Hope it's in depth enough :p

Oh and also when you're getting a cross in there are different ways to do it. You can use the power meter, double tap x for a (what seems to me) a bit more precise cross or triple x for a powerful low drive that will either get you a goal, own goal or a corner 80% of the time.

OP. I was laughing reading that. It's an exact copy if what happens in my house. The shooting, he's even scored with his goalkeeper going on a full pitch run. Now I've played enough games to be better but I just cant get it going. He doesn't gloat any more. Just looks at me ain a pitifull way. The git.

Sad isnt it. But i'm armed with all the tips off here so I'm about to saddle up for another crack. The problem for us is that we feel like we need to be an octopus to press all the various buttons at the same time whereas the controller seems like an extension of their hands for the little buggers

Through balls (Y Button) are usually your best bet when you see players making a run, if there's a defender in the way lobbed through balls (Left bumper and Y) are a godsend - It's how I score most of my goals.

Also it's pretty easy to score from out wide as city, whip in a cross with the X button and then just mash shoot and hope Dzeko gets a touch on it.

On one on ones with the keeper always use RB to do a finesse shot, will place the ball in the corner and makes it much easier to score.

If you're relatively unexperienced on FIFA I would go into the controller settings and put the assists on, things like pass assistance are very handy when you're struggling to learn the game and should level the playing field somewhat.

Failing that you could always try the 'no pocket money' trick for when he's showboating.

Good luck!

Leave your misses, find a new house and buy a different Xbox with XBL. Tell him your gt is Danny1894 but you dont have a mic. then ask for a game. He will lose every time

Extreme solution there MC

Don't dive in!! Stay on your feet, try to tackle with the pass button as if you slide in against kids who are good at it they will make you look a fool, hence the goalkeeper going on a full pitch run. Don't over-commit either, there is a tendency to try and flood the man in possession but against good players you will get humped as they pass round you and use skill to make you look a d1ck! Try and limit the opposition to crosses and long shots, make it hard from them to get in your area as it easier to defend that then your kids running at you straight through the middle!

When in possession keep the ball, draw men in and pass to men in space, if you get put under pressure you can quick-pass it back to where it came from or to someone free. Always try and keep an eye on who is free and where the defenders are. I find it easier to beat teams with clever passing than using skill. If you get it right you can put someone in with the through ball almost every time.

But if your hand-eye coordination isn't as good as your kids I'm afraid you already have a huge disadvantage, get praticising against the computer and take the kid on when you are up to speed!
