Sign the squad players now and the galacticos later...

Just occurred to me that the best transfer window tactic would be to buy who Hughes sees as squad players now, eg Barry, Dzeko, Crouch etc. THEN sign the likes of Kaka, Etoo, Alonso etc later, otherwise the squad players won't be incentivised to come as they think they'll be sat on the bench all season - which they won't like esp given that the world cup is next year.

Hughes is getting this right as far as I can see.

true because we have good youth players and we dont wanna stop players like ireland from coming thru becasue we have brought massive players who dont really wanna play for city who just want the money !

You do have to sign the players that are available for example the likes of tevez, villa or silva at valencia. If we dont sign them now as we have a lot more money, they will sign for someone else and we will be kicking ourselves for letting quality players go
