You've convinced me Tolm. It has to be Gazbaz and Jimmy as DM's all the way. I agree with ChicagoBlue that we can't play Javi/Rodwell with the sideways passing in the games that count. It just goes to show how desperately short of mobile mids we are.

Forget De Rossi, it would be Montolivo all day for me. Have been so impressed with his all-round game.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

You should have gone for Alex Song.

Spot on.

you cant be serious, to compare montolivo to de rossi is like to compare cleverly to messi

I mean with regards more replacing Barry and Milner in the years ahead!

De Rossi is a crackpipe dream.

What do you think of the lad Marchisio at Juventus? I love their midfield. He seems very comfortable in sitting, although Tardelli, he aint!

replacing milner with montolivo ? LOL AFAIK montolivo is older than milner

marchisio is very good but still not in de rossi class , and never will be. anyway he's a lot better than montolivo.

Please don't put Milner and Marchisio in the same sentence, thank you!

We don't need De Rossi class, we need a better than Barry and Milner class.

Marchisio comes in younger, although cheaper, not so sure in relation to Rossi.

All i know is we got rid of Jongie and replaced him with JR and JG, i am still scratching my head. We have lost that bite and all round in your face and replaced that with averageness at the best, Yaya must be pulling his hair. Barry and Milner are the only way forward with what we have

marchisio is a little better version of a milner . a raider , a fighter , , not a playmaker. de rossi is both a fighter and a playmaker. and no , given that juventus won't sell you cant get marchisio for cheap.

Whilst De Rossi is class, so is Montolivo. Plus he's younger, cheaper and has a better eye for a forward pass.

That's the angle he might be coming from. Plus, the gap between De Rossi and Montolivo isn't that big, whereas your ridiculous comparison to Cleverly and Messi is huge.

montolivo is 15 months younger than de rossi , not really a big deal. plus , de rossi is a complete midfielder , better defending better attacking better vision and passing better stamina than montolivo. plus de rossi has got personality , character and charisma , 3 things montolivo has always completely lacked.

I dont know about you lot but this is top of my list when im looking at midfileders

Scouting on these three traits has served us well with Balotelli........Oh shit, wait a minute!!!

Garcia has been here for five minutes, ffs. He will be an excellent signing, but the football manager massive think you can just go out and spend tens of millions if a player isn't man of the match every week from the get go.

Update on the OS:

Roberto Mancini says David Silva will miss tomorrow’s clash with West Brom and the Blues’ vital Champions League group game against Ajax.

The City midfielder limped off after just 12 minutes as La Roja drew 1-1 with France in Madrid on Tuesday.

“David has a hamstring problem and is not ready for tomorrow,” Mancini revealed.

“We hope that he will be ready for the next Premier League game against Swansea.”

Bad, bad, bad news.

We aren't half the team without Silva in it. Ajax, as it's a must win, is a particular worry.

It is bad news, but if he were only to miss those two games that's about as good as we could have hoped for when he went off in the Spain game. I'd be surprised if he was back for Swansea though.

With our squad we should be able to take care of Swansea without Silva, give him an extra game off if he needs it.

He will be missed V WBA and Ajax, hopefully Nasri can step up, I've always thought that they work better apart than together.

expected Silva to be out. More disappointed that Garcia and Maicon are still out

Maicon's injury was originally described as a bruised foot. Obviously it wasn't that

Can't see the problem myself. Nasri can come in for Silva, Richards can play right back, and Milner can play alongside Barry.

Because we've got a lot of games coming up and need players, and garcia and Maicon need games otherwise they wont be hitting their stride for some time

Can we drop Tevez deeper and play Balotelli and Aguero ahead of him of is that just madness?
