Been thinkin a lot today, watching the rags yesterday makes me think we need a scholes type player, possibly play the 442 with 2 hardworking central midfielders and 2 good wide men! I was thinking who along with yaya could we buy to help this, my conclusion Bale!! Because I think silva would be perfect on cm next to yaya, hardworking and brilliant vision and passing!! With bale and Milner wide and aguero, dzeko or hopefully cavani/mario Gomes up top. Anyone think this could work

Im not sure why everyone is suddenly so insistent on copying the rags style of play? Does anyone think Barca are looking at our league thinking 'shit boys, 442 is back, better change up'. Having fast wingers to constantly ping balls into the box isn't a bad fall back plan, but it shouldnt be the first plan. Earlier in the season people on here were mocking them, chance takers compared to chance makers. We've just stopped making the chances through poor football. It should still be based solidly around possession football. Not kick and rush.

On Football Manager terms; (shoot me if you must.)

Scholes is a Deep-Lying Playmaker, who focuses on ball retention, and pumping long balls to the wide players, or behind the defence.

Silva is a Trequartista/Advanced Playmaker, who in no way specializes in long balls here and there. His play borders alot on ball control, technique and intricate through balls.

Not sure about 442 but we are desperate for wide men.
No one can copy barca style as it is installed in them from a
Young age, to pass, pass, pass. It will take years before we can
Think that way but etihad campus is defo the right way.

Can't see us getting bale as his value will be through the roof and with ffp
Around the corner can't see us spending near 40 million
On one player.

We need someone in the middle who will complement Silva. He is not a tackling machine, and our resident tackling machines have little vision, so Roberto will have to be given the keys to the safe again.
Can yaya not fill the tackling roll? I don't want to copy the rags but it works and with the right players will win us this league

It is a hell of a lot to spend, but is it worth spending big and getting exactly the player we need instead of settling for 2nd best? He is the best in his position and 22! Dzeko would thrive off hiss delivery

Silva is at his best floating between the opponents midfield and defence, finding little pockets of space and sliding through balls into runners. Our problem lately has been the lack of runners, Aguero's dead on his feet, Dzeko's confidence means he's dropping deeper, Richards is carrying a knock and isn't flying past people on the right and Nasri's trying a bit too much to be a goal providing rather than goal scoring midfielder at the moment.

Another years experience playing together this season and we'll be back again next season.
