Simple question, are you walking out during West Brom? YES or NO?

Are you going to walk out during West Brom game in protest at ticket prices?

Guess my age.

It doesn't take a genius, not even you, to work out the average of our support. Any older and our support would be nodding off, just like the privileged few in the House of Lords.

That aside, just like me I'd like to think our support is now pretty Liberal and stable, and long gone are the Days of a Peter Swales protest, with fans hanging of the metal gates protecting the main stand entrance, along with bricks and bottles flying towards the Police as they charged the City fans that night. I take it you were there, or if not, I take it you still remember that night?
I'm guessing you're around my age (65) and can take better pictures than me! The young fellow sitting next to me on my left is 78, and the other side is a couple both of pensionable age. My long time friends sit in the next row up, directly above me, and, yes, you've guessed it, are all over 60. I've never yet nodded off, but felt very close this season at times. It's like a club around me, we don't encourage any riff - raff around us.
Yes, I was there through those times, even in the Stuart Pearce era, and have seen it all. As for remembering that night - ah yes, I remember it well! Just like I remember my mouseburger in the Kippax.

Don't know if I'm going yet, but if I don't then I'm definitely walking out.

Due to prior commitments I won't be at the game but if I was, I'd be staying to the end as I do every week. It's easier to get out of the car park if I hang back ;-)

If I go to the game then definitely not.
I wonder what agenda is driving this as it all seems a bit knee jerk. Prices have been high for several years now and similar at most PL grounds - so why now?

What I do think is a very valid concern is pricing out the next generation of fans and those on low incomes. City clearly do something for kids but there need to be cheaper tickets made avsilable somehow (£20 for example). However, we as fans should be articulating this through dialogue with the club - and also as others have said working with the rest of the clubs. I don't think a "walkout" is the right thing - although I'm happy to be proven wrong if prices become cheaper.

Others have said that prices are
not vastly different to before (I'm sure I paid £50 odd v Barca the first time and honestly I thought it was value to be able to see my team v the best.

My own view is that this is largely being driven by fans who want the "old" City back and the associated atmodphere, rituals etc. They don't like or don't buy into all the cheesy crap and "tourists" etc we are now getting. I too don't like it although I'm not sure what a "tourist" is and I go back to 1972 but I can put up with all this if it means my team is at the top table. If people want to change things then we should do it with a bit more thought.

Any changes to the Cl etc would obviously require a re evaluation.

NO... But if they would have charged £90, I would have walked out after the 90th minute, plus injury time ;)

Who are you snidely referring to here?

All of the people advocating a walkout are long standing blues, and the vast majority are season ticket holders to boot, of which I am one.

And no-one is telling you what to do, we've been trying to canvass opinion on the support for a walkout and why we believe one is necessary. Quite straightforward. If you don't support a walk out at this stage then you're entitled to do as you please.

I think a better question to put would for a poll would be "would you support a walkout against West Brom?" No one is going to walkout individually and without a consensus first.
For me it's simple, if you don't want to pay it don't go it's not that hard. City have given me plenty of £1 & £20 tickets over the last few years so take it or leave it. Walking out proves nothing imo.

its pretty simple really, those that do something about things have the right to moan, those who do nothing have no right to moan. simples

it is a nice thought but they could not really have chosen any of the league clubs.

not all had the stadium, the fan base, the potential. Others were already taken or would have cost a whole lot more. Others were not even worth considering.

The story is that it was one of three. Us, Everton and Newcastle.

Everton ground or lack of opportunity to build another cost them and I believe Ashley asked too much for the toon.

Having said that we were lucky but we also had a lot to offer. One major factor being the fans. Lose that and what's the point in a club?

Often wonder how the self righteous blue dippers would have reacted to a billion pounds being poured into their club , maybe their "peoples club" bullshit would have been seen for what it is , maybe some of the sleeping giants like Sheff.Wed , Wolves , Villa , Leeds etc would have been considered by ADUG , but we have a lot to thank Frank Sinatra for , we have had a brilliant eight years or so , and with reference to the thread , i would rather pay £40-50 to watch this team , than £25-30 to watch Stuart Pearce managing Dunney to notch another own goal

Y E S

by about 5 minutes

But only cos they moved it to 5.30pm kick off.Me and the lad are going watching Muse at the MEN so we'll be walking into Piccadilly instead of going back to ashton on the 216.

Up the blues

Muse will probably be 30 mins late starting. People should protest.
