Simply Red

Can't stand that twat Hucknall but anyone who got between Catherine Zeta-Jone's legs in her heyday has to be given some begrudging respect.
that's a lot of respect being thrown around

In 1989, Robbie Vincent played a track simply called "X" on his soul show, challenging all to guess who it was by. It was a jazz instrumental so no chance. I bought it on a 3" cd single of "it's only love". The only thing I've ever bought by them and only really played that track. Not a fan of the rest of his work.

Grabbed my work mates arse in Rockworld, its ok this was the 90s when grabbing ladies arses was a term of endearment

When I was a kid, I was cycling down Atwood road, in Didsbury. And the lad I was with pointed at a house and said that was where MH lived. I didn't believe him, so he dragged me into the front garden and we looked through the living room window and on the wall was a Simply Red Gold disk.

This must've been before he made the big bucks. That's all I've got.

At last a decent thread.
There have been many seminal albums down the years Marvin Gayes 'Whats Going On' is a classic dealing with violence, hatred, war and even the terrible things we are doing to the planet.
When Picture Book was first released I was amazed, here was an album that spoke to me. It too dealt with serious world issues and it is fair to say, it changed my life. I re-evaluated what was important in my life and I am sure @Bigg Bigg Blue @idahoblues @BlueMoonRisin’ will confirm, when I heard THAT song I just knew.
What song ? Moneys Too Tight Too Mention of course.
