Friend of mine who knows zilch about football said to me this: why is it that a player who fouls another player amd gets a yellow card that causes the player to go off for treatment doesn't have to go off the pitch for the same length of time?

Sounded like a UEFA rule in the making . Any thoughts?

Your friend; American?

Yeah, only an American could come up with that. In stark contrast to all the great takes and opinions that are normally presented here on Bluemoon

Terrible idea. I'm against anything that gives referees more opportunity to manipulate the outcome of games. Now instead of simply booking all our players for their first tackle every week they can make them leave the pitch for 10 minutes instead. Innocuous foul holding onto a goal lead against Liverpool or Arsenal boom sin bin.

This is obviously a ridiculous idea. But I’ve always been against sin bins in general.

You think there’s a lot of time wasting now? Imagine an extra 30 or 40 minutes per game, where one side or the other is a man short and killing as much time as they can until they’re back up to a full team?
