"In the year to June, London has attracted more cross border commercial real estate investment than any other city. It has overtaken New York as destination for fintech investment and it has increased its dominance of the world’s $6.6 trillion daily foreign exchange market."
I guess you could say that.
We all know that since Taggart retired, the rags have been going steadily downhill. No leagues, handful of trophies, out of the CL more than they're in it, one new manager after another, slowly sliding down the league table. Fortune after fortune paid out for one bad buy after another. World class player after world class player arrives at the swamp, turns to dogshit, moves on and regains their mojo. Once Moyes said they aspire to be like us and got sacked for it. Now OGS says we're the best team in the world - and repeats it - and nobody bats an eyelid.
Over on ragcafe however you can still find people who post links to and quotes from Jamie Jackson articles that prove the rags are the best thing since sliced bread. Back in the real world, anyone who operates within football knows the reality behind this kind of puff piece.
It wasn't your post that brought this to mind, by the way, it was one of the others. I'm sure you see the parallel.
