I want to take my youngest (8) to his first match as he has finally really gotten into football.

We don't have a season ticket so I was wondering where the best place would be these days to sit with younger children?

There is a designated family stand which I beleive is the North Stand, although you should be fine anywhere. Maybe avoid the sections that surround the away section (South Stand if you want to avoid obscenities.

From my experience you need to avoid the family stand as well! Some of the adults are almost as bad! Only joking! It

The main thing is to avoid the lower tier areas where everyone stands.

I'd probably say 2nd tier family stand
I thought that North Stand Level 2 is no longer part of the Family Stand? Or is it that NSL2 is the FS and L1 isn’t anymore (I can’t remember!)?

My Dad used to take me to all the different stands around Maine Road when I was a kid, the obscenities never even crossed his mind, he used to be one of the people shouting them (he did say “OI!” to me when I joined in with “the referees a wanker” once though).

I think we only ever sat in the Family Stand once, for a night match, and Neil Lennon and Gerry Creany (who were in the Youth team at the time) came and sat close by and gave me sweets… I preferred the smell of cigars and beer and all the swearing in the Kippax though, even as a 6 year old.

I would go with North level 2 maybe try lower rows in case heights are an issue for the lad.
