Sky alternatives

Not sure if this belongs here but I got a letter from sky saying its goin up a further £1.25 . I only had one a couple of months back and it's takin the piss now .

What alternatives do I have . Maybe get a bt package with tv and broadband so I can stream thr games that ent on bt ?.

go for one of the foreign satellite firms that do al jezzera english sports channels. Added bonus of sat 3pm matches with them too.

I am in Leeds a lot atm so got 100Mbps internet, xbmc and use my ftp access so i can grab anything i want or stream it instantly.

I have no need for the tv and phone package.

That is with Virgin.

Your limited to choice in this country, the main ones are

Sky - Very Expensive
BT Vision - Poor Quality similar setup to setanta only good thing is they are doing 36 Blue Square Premier games
Virgin - Shows Sky Sports Similar price to Sky

The way forward is a Foreign satellite similar to what they have in pubs and they are not that expensive now. Im considering getting one as alot of the channels have english commentators anyway

Motorised dish, spider box, about 350-400 to buy and install, use a c-line which gives you sky's sports Italian/uk/german and hundreds of more channels, including pay per view fights, 3 o'clock footy, adult , films, etc, £50 for 3 months.....no brainier

I haven't so couldn't give you the details. One of our pubs has it and there's at least 3 different 3pm Saturday games as well the 12:45/5:45 and sunday KO's

dreambox with a cccam server, uses about 2gb of internet every month, but you get everything on sky plus a few extra internet sports channels, €120 a year here in ireland and €150 for the hd box, theres also a cheaper box called a Vu solo does the same thing also
