Sky F1 channel in March...

Ok I dont get car racing, but i understand others do. I take it there has been research into this or they wouldnt make the channel. Is there enough fans of the sport that would want a channel dediacted to the sport?

I am aware people may say im looking at this from football fans point of view. In football there are many 4 domestic leagues and many around the world that people follow. In F1 there is a few cars.. I know there is a lower league sort of thing F2, F3? but does anyone really follow it??

Where i work there is two people i know that like the car racing, but they go once a year to somewhere in England, not every week or every other weekend.

Its not putting down the sport. Was just wondering how many follow it on here and if so can you see how they can fill days worth of stuff on one channel for it?

They needed to so that there wont be adverts during the racing. Couple of my mates are racing nuts and spend weekends away watching the practising and qualies and the race. I should think it will just be on during race weekends otherwise there just isnt enough happening to fill time in between

thats what i thought.. It wont be on all the time??

Like i say i wont watch it due to not being keen on the sport.. Was just wondering if racing fans on here would explain how they could fill a channel daily on the sport? Like you say might just be on race weekends

I think its just coverage on SS1 on the weekend of races, don't think its a new channel.
Sky had F1 for one season about 8 years ago and it stank! Major fail on their part, hope they've bucked their ideas up this time round.
BBC have screwed everybody over, but at least every race will at least be shown in almost full at some point on the BBC, their coverage for it is unparalleled across the board imo.

Heard this whole F1 on Sky will cause problems for F1 coverage in Australia FML

Why?
Can't remember the full details but the coverage in Aus is from the BBC, though next season since it's on Sky aswell they have to sort out a way to get that coverage. One of the races on Sky next season is the AUSGP FFS

BBC will still be there so they may still use that feed even if the UK viewers don't get it.

I know what you mean as a number of countries use the BBC's feed, but it'll work out anyway.

Yeah, read that in the papers. Just a tad bit worried lol. I really don't want to resort to streaming F1...
