No debate imo - it's ludicrous - the lad's a metre off the ground, leg fully extended towards head height with studs showing - any pundit saying it's not a straight red is demonstrating a disconnect from reality - and are getting money for old rope - they should be ashamed --- but let's Manè gets a yellow - he stays on the pitch and our 1st choice keeper is carried off - I guess in their opinion that would have been a more fair outcome; oh yeah, fairer for who?, certainly not us - the lot should be sacked or at least reprimanded --- ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!

Doesn't matter one fucking jot whether Mané is a nice guy or not, whether it was an accident or not, or whether Shearer and the other morons in the MotD studio would have gone for it, or the fact that Emerson could walk and smile later in the afternoon as evidence from Klopp to vindicate his notion that it was not a red. None of the preceding is one iota relevant to whether Jonny should have issued a red card or not. It is basically down to what FIFA have written in the Laws of the Game, and to save anyone having to search for it, it was endangering an opponent. Mané's foot is up at head height and makes contact. For once a red card is issued to an opponent at The Etihad. Allefuckin'luia!
