Sky - Mané Red card poll (official appeal rejected)

I don't get this deliberate or not argument, it can be argued that he didn't raise his boot until he saw ederson, and therefore deliberate...why do people assume he didn't mean to, a pro footballer knows better than anyone what can happen when he leaves the ground studs showing at head height, mane made the choice to do it so it's deliberate

Sure it's been said but no chance in hell they make that poll if Aguero does the same to Mignolet. We've had two shocking sending offs in just three games and as soon as we get one in our favor (correctly called too), they make a poll asking if it should have been given. I would say it's unbelievable, but it's not surprising in the least.

Yep, I said it. The debate would have been about how long should the ban have been. They would be playing that alongside the tackle (!) against Luiz, thereby showing that Aguero was a thug and asking for a 6 match ban.

I really don't understand why it's even being debated!
Arguing that it was accidental, Mané didn't mean it etc. is just fudging the issue, and the truth is that Mané intended to go for the ball, he meant to leap and raise his foot 6 ft off the ground, knowing full well that if he's late, he will be endangering the safety of a fellow player! No one would have berated him for not going for the ball, which is what happens 95% of the time, and for Gary Neville to come out and blame City's defence for playing a high line is just pathetic! Similarly, Klopp's berating of the 4th official while a player flat out for a long time is callous, his refusal to admit his player had done wrong in the interview, only fuels the inane section of the fans, and led Sky to jump on this with clickbait " poll", the only Poll people should talk notice of, is the one in the link above

It's not even a debate. Its a clear red card. Mane isn't malicious, nor is he trying to injure Ederson. The moment Ederson wins that ball he knows he's going to get a whack, Mane has his studs up and it's dangerous and reckless.

Yes and the ref got it wrong.

And he got the dive wrong as well. When I think that this pillock booked Sergio for a dive that cleaned him out at the knees it just makes me wonder what level of incompetence PiGMOL and the PL will descend in order to fill up all the games with a so-called 'elite'' referee. It was clearly a dive, Jones wasn't conned into awarding the dive with a pen, but why no yellow card for the player. He escapes a sanction that has been given to dozens of players this weekend.
