It's also right that any ban should be subject to appeal, irrespective of the circumstances.Now that appeals are heard before the club's next match that extra punishment was scrapped as it was only used if the FA thought the club were trying to delay the suspension by appealing so that the offender could play in their next match.
That anyone seriously thought the FA would allow this appeal shows the levels of irrationality that have gripped some of our support. We get a wholly unfair press and we've had a series of highly questionable refereeing decisions against us, this season and last, in particular, but there are limits.
