Between here and there.
I have Sky multiroom but only the box downstairs records, rewinds and all the rest.
Were I to buy another 2tb box would it record and stuff upstairs without having to pay another subscription and would it affect the downstairs box say if multiple programes were being recorded upstairs while the downstairs one is also recording.

I ask as the 16yr old is driving me mad, we get him the full sky package for his room and all the lad does is moan to watch the downstairs TV for stuff he has recorded.

With sky multiroom the 2nd sky box should do everything the main sky box does, as long as it's the same type of box. I presume your son just as a normal sky box so can't live pause or anything! I

if you have two boxes then Sky stop the multiroom box recording now. (they didnt use to) ..if you want complete functionality (legally) then you will need a separate subscription unless you can link the two rooms together so that you can view the content of each box i.e. your son views whats recorded on box 1 whilst you view whats on box 2 and vice versa. Weve done this by putting a Bang and Olufsen system in one room (B&O have a separate set top box controller so using the sky control doesn't interfere with the other room) the other option is a Loewe Connect system....but neither are a cheap solution

Well I have just spoke to a Sky fella and it will cost £309 for me to purchase a 2TB box for upstairs as well and for both boxes to record rewind and the rest. It will cost me no more in subscription though my bill will stay the same. The two options you have told me about, how much are they mate?

Cheers for the advice lads.

Save yourself a packet and buy a 2TB box from online rather than sky

Easier said, the above poster has told me it would be useless as Sky will prevent me from using an extra 2tb box for what I want it for.

To record and do all the things the downstairs box does.
