SKY Tv

I did say first page and not OP squirty.

As a post to actually go with the thread I could never cancel sky tv (when I can afford it) because of 3 or 4 knob jockeys otherwise I would have to cancel all tv and not pay my tv licence and burn my tv. Sky's programming and sports coverage is second to non in this country and while soccer saturday still has a lack of foaming at the mouth reds im happy enough.

TBH I just don't watch TV as much now as I used too.

It's on in the background like the radio or music. I tend to have SS news on all day and night!
So I thought, for £49, this is ridiculous. I can see why people have it, just not me anymore at that price.
I just got pee'd off with the way they handled the cancellation and tried to treat me like a mug, hence my ridiculous reasons to them.

£49 a month is an extra away ticket each month.

And I would try and get rid of TV altogether as the wife watches crap and I tend to watch reruns of American comedies

great points from the op, but another complaint i have is the picture breaks down a lot in bad weather 'pixelation' now can anyone answer this- if i'm watching say the horror channel and the pic breaks up if i switch to bbc news, sky1, sky news etc the pic is fine, i have thought about this for a while is it because the shitty type channels are compressed more to compensate for better channel quality on the premium channels?

I've noticed this since I've recently reinvested in Sky. I had it in the early days and it was terrible for this. I remember when SS3 first came out and for some reason that channel was like watching a snow storm most of the time.

I assumed times had moved on and have never noticed any problems in the boozer but with this new kit I've got, SS1 HD gives up with the first sign of a few drops of rain and I end up watching the ordinary SS1 which never seems to be affected.

Is this a common problem or should I be on to SKY to sort it out?

The final straw was finding out that Sky has turned the signal down on SD transmissions to encourage people to switch the the HD which is £10 a month extra.

Fox do SD transmissions and they are far, far sharper than SKYs non HD ones.

Ask a non-SKY/Virgin engineer about it.

Just noticed my dads new box has no RF inputs or outputs you have to spend £25 for a bloody adaptor to put your signal through to another TV in the house, what's the point in that, if aunt broke don't fix it ffs.

Sorry to bump this thread when it seemed to have run it's course but this post has been playing on my mind since it appeared. Is this something that SKY have admitted? If this is true, it's an absolute fucking scandal.

I took great delight in showing that post to my lovely lady. As I said in my earlier post, every time it rains I have to switch from the HD channel to the ordinary and I was convinced the picture was poorer than it used to be before HD.

She would call me a fucking idiot each time I mentioned it and said it just looks worse because I am now use to HD.

I fucking knew it though. They can't kid me, the bastards.

Another thing I've noticed on several occasions are presenters while showing old footage of something, casually mentioning how shit the picture was in those days and how great it is in comparison these days with HD. Not very subtle but very calculated.
