how is this charged if you use this service? just my lads been asking about it as he has his own laptop now.

Skype to Skype is free.
Skype to landline is very very cheap. I am ringing the missus in South America and it is 2.7 cents per minute.
Skype to mobile is about 20 cents a minute if I was to call her.
You can do it all via subscription. ie. Pay a set amount per month for set services, though.

I bought $30AU worth of credit when I went overseas last January. I've made about two dozen calls to landlines in Australia and overseas from all over the world, and only just ran out.NathanC said:Skype to Skype is free.
