Sleaford Mods

just had a good listen to them for the first time, the soundtracks are in my zone, like it, i can hear the social commentary another tick in the box for me
but fuck me the swearing is on another level and i don't mind swearing at all in music, with punk and its ilk being at the heart of what i like
going to take a bit of time these boys but i think it may be worth it

I used to shop at Limeys with some frequency. I was good mates with many of the staff there too and had several nights out in town with them in the early naughties. When Limeys closed I moved my custom to Flannels, where I got my wedding suit from as it happens. I found some of the staff at Flannels to be a bit of a chore at times tbh.

Never owned a Stone Island jacket though. Most uncouth :-)
Phew. Case dismissed! :)

I only realised yesterday that Limeys had indeed closed. I went in on a number of occasion and found the staff an utter saucepan of helpfulness. One of those shops you feel the after affects of a visit for a long time after. Recall a link to a colourful funding source (may have been the reason it closed..but I don't want to cast any dispersions).
Couldn't afford to shop there these days with 'da kidz' and all that. More Sue Ryder and Shelter these days.
Flannels is Manchester born isn't it?

Love or hate the Mods, most with a musical bent will have an opinion on them. Makes me think Squarepusher and John Cooper Clarke would make a good 'turn'.

saw them at The Acadamy 2 earlier in the year - one of the best gigs I've seen in years - The Membranes supporting were pretty good too

What a pair of twats ...each to their own i suppose but they are fcuking rubbish
