I thought Australia had mandatory voting for every citizen and a n.o t a option.

You're half right. Voting is compulsory, but there is no 'none of the above' option. You number the candidates in order of preference. The only way it's not counted is if you spoil the paper or fill it in incorrectly.

There is a group who want to introduce a 'none' option, but it's a common misconception that there is that option currently.

Vote for ********* Party - were all the same really, with a slightly different name.

How about something like:

'We actually have some policies that we wish to spend our time implementing rather than wasting everyones time bickering and point scoring like school children whilst trying desperately trying to avoid upsetting any section of society that might give us a few votes by remaining non-committal on important issues and watering down any meagre pieces of legislation that we actually manage to pass on the odd occassion we get off our fat, tax payer funded arses and to do the job we're paid to do.'

WE ARE NOT AS BENT AS THEM.what-ever ,it will be the lowest turnout in history. westminster is corrupt, not fit for purpose, its London bias in every decision is naked self-interest. There is no discernable difference between the parties,so why bother to vote. The country is fcked,no jobs no leaders no prospects,no deterrent for the criminals.the worst run health service, the dearest dentistry, the dearest opticians the highest fuel prices the highest numbers per class,None of this will change whatever party is in power.
