Settling for mediocrity because they are making money isnt that mental. The big wigs at the FA dont want to rock the boat, restructure everything at cost, risk the profit margins and mostly their cushy positions, if they are held to account for the team's under performance rather than the manager.

Portugal were 'shit' all tournament yet still won it.
I was talking more about the fans settling for mediocrity. The FA are laughing their bollocks off whilst paying lip service to the media before and after every tournament.

Forgetting everything else, just this game - Kane could and should have scored a couple, Sturridge was a inch away from walcotts cross from scoring, Lallana had a shot outside area that just went wide, Lallana again where he hit the inside of the post and Walcott miss a glaring follow up. There keeper pulled off a few saves. That's just off the top of my head. No it wasn't vintage football but another day that could have been at least 5-0. Already that is progress from the last time we played Slovakia.

And you are acting like we've had some success in the last 50 years. I would take us playing shit if we won, but we dont, we dont even get close, so why compare us to Portugal, who have a smaller population and less resources but still out perform us, like most countries do.
In 2000 the Germans went out in the groups of the Euros, they had a review and actually did something positive by investing heavily in fully qualified coaches, the proof of the pudding was in them winning the world cup.
You keep saying we could have won 5 or 6 nil, their keeper didnt make any saves of note, we hit the post and that was about it other than shots wide. People like you are part of the reason why we've won fuck all for half a century.

I get you. In that case, yes it is nuts and nothing will change until the happy clappers realise we are constantly out performed by countries with smaller populations and less resources.
Scraping 1-0 wins against 10 men who showed no desire to get out of their half will just keep the bandwagon rolling.

That was supposed to be our hardest qualifying game according to the rankings, so we'll piss the qualification and the happy clappers will say all is ok and that BFS is making progress.

This, to be frank, is getting pretty tedious.
I didn't watch all of Portugal's games so it is difficult to comment but from what I saw they were boring, wouldn't necessarily call it shit though - I think it's pretty safe to say, they would have knocked us out

Rather be a 'Happy Clapper' who supports there nation whether there sh*t or not than a victor meldrew fan who gets bitter when we win and throws there toys out of the pram because the managers selected a few players who play for there teams rivals.
