Slovakia v England match thread

Yes, but can you tell me you enjoyed watching that? I didn't.

I enjoyed the goal plenty! We weren't great by any stretch of the imagination, but lucky? Nah. That goal was a long time coming, and the lads kept pushing for it.

Sam needs to stop smoking crack if he seriously thinks Rooney was "brilliant".

It was horrible to watch. The 'only' thing that England need to be a decent team though are a couple of quality attacking midfield players to replace Shrek and Henderson. The disconnect between them and Kane and the wide players is horrible to watch. Dave and Kev would make England a very competitive team.

When you look at the quality that Spain have in AM it makes it even more difficult to understand why England has such a dearth of quality.
Thought John and Raheem played pretty well but nowhere near how they are playing for us.

But they are shit because these Academies don't know how to develop these kids when they turn up at the clubs at 11 years old. So they buy kids who've been trained properly abroad and then ruin them too! :)

English Academies are appalling

Mainly because of the way they are taught to coach & play football imo. Look how happy Sam is after watching 11 statues against ten men. He thinks Rooney was brilliant.

Most academies are still more interested in winning trophies & producing 6 footers even now. But there is a lot more football played than there was ten years ago & City are at the top. You look at Deli Ali & Lallana & they are being talked about as being really clever just for running about near the box & not falling over.

I think the foreign kids are helping raise the standards of the English. Some of our best kids coming tgrough will be English but play like Argentinians or Spaniards.

I think you are being very unfair on fat Sam, of course Wazza can play where he wants, after all how does he do his job if he cant follow the ref to all parts of the pitch.

Spot-on PLLK. I sense that we are infested with many non-Ingerrlund supporters on here tonight.

BFS has taken a group of disinterested, underperforming strollers and turned them into a team of table-toppers.

There are clear parallels between what he is doing with the national team and what Pep is doing for us.

Fair play if you enjoyed that match, I thought it was absolute dire. I disagree and believe we were lucky but I absolutely agree that we weren't great and haven't been for many many years.

England cannot field a decent team that could take on Europe's best and haven't been able to for donkeys years. Sadly, I don't see it improving with Sam in charge.

I'm still recovering from the Rooney was brilliant line. There's no hope for this team, none whatsoever.
