Slowest ever?

None of the players we have now are anywhere near the slowest. Even Garcia.

Gareth Barry would lap Lee Crooks or Tommy Booth in a 50 yard race. Kernaghan, Creaney, Ged Brannan, there are scores, in fact probably over a hundred players we have had who were miles slower than anything we have now. Garcia would leave Nigel Clough for dead in a sprint. He'd carry Kevin Horlock faster than Horlock could run.

Gotta be Negoui he looked as shagged when he came on as when he was subbed 12 or so minutes later against kids in a league cup game

Richard Jobson, although to be fair he was getting on when he played for us, was never quick though, Other than that probably Ricky Holden, Gerry Creaney and Fat Bob.

Going back over the years it had to be Freddie Hill, well in his late 30`s if not more when we got him, his saving grace was his ball skills meant he could beat the same player over and over at little more than walking pace (That was his full speed).

We have had a few that while they could run faster, their mental speed was so f*cking slow to react they looked worse

Was going to mention Freddie....he was a cult hero of mine, I think I was 11/12 yrs at the time he was so skillful he was a Benarbia type player unfortunately bought to late, he didn't play in that many games for us but he could dribble at walking pace.

I can't believe no one's mentioned the one, the only, the first man to make me stand up and swear in the family stand because he was such a slow, lazy tw@t..........Robbie Fowler ! Paul moulden was pretty slow, he's a friend of mine now, he was involved in kids football in the Bolton area,. I believe his outstanding stats at under 14 level were partly because he is, and always was, a fantastic finisher, but also, at 14 he was built like a bloke. He was a very early developer. Plus , Bolton lads club had all the best players at that time and smashed everyone else out of sight.

-- Thu Aug 08, 2013 1:28 pm --

I can't believe no one's mentioned the one, the only, the first man to make me stand up and swear in the family stand because he was such a slow, lazy tw@t..........Robbie Fowler !
