Did I mention I'd been on Eggheads?
My first away game in London was against Arsenal in 1979, the 'away' end was mixed in the corner of the Clock End and no City fans had colours on.
Hard to tell then how many Blues were there. but I wouldnt say more than a couple of hundred.

In the relegation season of 1983, we had two consecutive away games at Southampton and Swansea and got stuffed 4-0 each game.
I think there was around 500 at The Dell and around 250 at Swansea - definately the smallest ever away following I was at a game.

(doesnt include games we were excluded from such as Chelsea away in the 90's and Millwall - though I know Blues were at both games, though not myself!)

How many were at West Brom away in the League Cup last season? No more than 500?

Spurs away midweek in '93. It was about 2 weeks after Spurs beat us in 6th round of the FA cup when everyone got their pictures in the Evening News. There was about 200/300.

The smallest away following i can remember is Chelsea. It was a Monday night & i think it was the 1st season of Sky TV. We'd played away at Norwich on the sat. Both games were 0-0 if memory serves. There were no more than 150/200 of us there. It was the old North Stand & it was fucking freezing.

Yes, I remember that one mainly for the cold not the football!

There was a midweek match at Ipswich towards the end of the 75/76 season, one coach from the travel club and maybe a few dozen exiled blues from down south, there can't have many more than 150-200 at that one either. After the match we spent an hour or so in the bar they had under the main stand having a few drinks before the coach set off back to Manc.

12 of us on pre-season game in China in 1996. And one of them was Kev Cummins who was sort of working....... So really it was only 11 of us. It was against Tianjin ...... We drew the game and lost on penalties (lost on purpose as the winning team were awarded a car and City would have struggled to get it on the plane home)
