Looking for a reasonable priced smart watch, nice n simple, not arsed about too much info on it. Tough wearing for a manual job and waterproof too!

Any suggestions , dont want to pay much really but not sure what i ‘need’ to spend

Get to Piccadilly gardens and ask the zombies....they'll get you one cheap.

Fitbit charge 6 is great.
It's a tracker, has GPS and can annoy you with smartphone alerts if you so wish.
Tells the time and your HR to boot.

I got one free. Fantastic device which isn't a smart watch per se but does everything you need a smart watch to do.

Else find the best sale price for a "smart watch" on Amazon.

Yeah i only really want it to alert me for messages etc
My phone pings all day when grafting and i spend half the day oissing about digging phone out of pocket to see who it is , thinking a smart watch takes that hassle away

I paid equivalent of 75 quid ($150) for a Fossil gen5 watch, tough stainless steel bracelet. Does everything I want. NFC, shows messages and you can take calls on it.
I recommend it.

I was given an amazfit t rex for Christmas. Its been great been knocked about abit especially when I went into s full rage when trying to change the tap in the kitchen. plus its a fraction of the price an equivalent garmin would cost.

I'm enough of an FOC (unfortunately) to remember when we used to buy a watch to simply tell the time. Matbe the date as well.

Radical, or what?

What?
Oddly enough....

By reference to your comment, a watch was originally a tool. Something used to do something.

As time progressed (lol), the watch became jewellery that also told time.

Now, with the ubiquitous nature of mobile phones, one could argue that we don't really need watches anymore and they are now just jewellery.

However, Smart watches do get back to the original premise of a watch being functional so to that end, we've gone full circle.

Depends on budget. Can probably get a Garmin Fenix 5 Plus for about a £100 on eBay. Make sure it's a Plus and not a standard 5. Has Garmin Pay, Maps, Music. Can link premium Spotify/Deezer accounts to it. Think they've largely stagnated since this generation. If you have more money, get a more recent one and if it has sapphire screen it's almost impregnable.
