I'm not an addict! I've not had a fag for over a year!

I'm simply trying to find out whether or not there is a solution that is acceptable to all!

i agree with OP. go without a fag for a couple of hours, you must make that decision in other areas of your life. it is your choice to smoke. regardless of the health implications, which some dispute, it is unpleasant to breathe in. it is not 'manly' to put up with this. i don't offend anyone by not smoking. how would these people go on in the vip boxes? yes, you do without for a couple of hours, instead of putting your smoke in someone else's lungs.

read my earlier post then when i said you shuld be allowed to smoke on the sprrals, i agree, you should be alowed to go somewhere to do it, but not in a toilet where people go for a piss!!!

I did! Along with your other posts that only served to make you seem unreasonable! So where do those in the bottom tier go to smoke, being as it is that they can't access the spirals? Would you not agree that a simpler solution would be to allow people to smoke in their seats (possibly contingent on a number of blocks being designated as "smoking sections")?

no as its the law, you are not allowed to smoke in the stadium, so why not have some sort of block or holding pen with fences outside the ground where you can walk into to have a fag at half time???

Reasonable suggestion. I guess there are concerns about people slipping things to people between the bars though.

I still think that we can smoke between the toilets and the main stadium on the lower level without harassment. That's where I do it anyway, the gap in between around 112/113 and the outside toilets. A few of us have a fag there at half time.

I'd have no problem with that! What I'm trying to point out though is that you're position seems to be based on a dislike of having to encounter smoke in an enclosed area. Well the stadium "bowl" isn't an enclosed area, so would you not agree that the law is wrong?

well im glad that we agree on the first bit, but the bowl is an enclosed area, it has 4 walls and a partial roof, also no wind really blows through so the smoke would just linger around. here is what i propose, 4 areas, 1 at each end of the ground where people are allowed to go and smoke if they wish to, this area would be 4 fences and no roof as this is what the law states and would be accossed through one of the exits in each stand. Solution, smokers and non smokers are happy and everyone can go for a piss without breathing in smoke and also the queues would reduce by half. what do you recon???

What I reckon is that its statements like the one above which make smokers suspect that the anti-smoking lobby are just out to get them! You can't honestly tell me that you consider an area in which you could quite literally fit a football field to be an enclosed area?

I have read all 11 pages, but im not gonna argue, none of us non smokers will win this debate.

It is horrible in 110/111 and the whole South Stand, it really is utterly disgusting.
