I'd ban all the smokers. I just don't see the point in not waiting for an hour and a half for a fag. What do these people do on aeroplanes? I'd set showsec on the smokers and leave the standers alone!

Just as smokers manage without a smoke for the flight, I assume those that insist on standing during a game somehow manage to sit down on a plane.

Medically you're actually advised to stand up, and walk about, from time to time on a plane so, overall, a totally ridiculous comparison.

While I am quite convinced that the medical benefits of walking outweigh those of smoking, that really wasn't what was being discussed.

You were making the same old tired argument that if a smoker could go for a couple of hours on a plane without a smoke, then he/she should be able to do the same at a match. I was making the equally ridiculous point that someone who desires to stand during a match also probably manages to endure a flight without feeling the urge to stand on his seat.

if smoking bothers anyone that much why don't the objectors just grow a pair and when you see someone smoking just walk over and take the fvcking fag off them?

just thought i would join in with this debate,i am a smoker,and yes i do smoke at half time,and before you all say inconsiderate tw@t,not in the toilets,but out on the spirals ,but if caught smoking i would take the punishment without moaning about it ,because has,it has been stated it against the law to smoke in the stadium,and as in all matters you takes your chance

i take my lad to city when i have him, we sit block 119 and when i take him to the loo at half time im sure he must smoke passively about 10 fags, its impossible to get in for a piss coz they all leg it out for cig !!! its only 105 minutes to wait !!!!

I'm getting proper p!ssed of with having to take my two boys into a smoke filled bog every half time.

As a 20 a day smoker myself, this is one of the many valid reasons why I wouldn't dream of sparking up in the stadium. It would be crass and inconsiderate to others.
Let's face facts, here. Smoking in a non-smoking environment, where it inconveniences others, is scummy, chavvy, lowlife behaviour.
It's two hours tops, for fuck's sake. Man up and learn some self control. Just because we have an addiction, no need to illegally impose it onto other people.
I would love to see how tolerant to substance addiction the 'do what we want' toilet tough guy brigade would be if a smackhead scum rat burgled your mum's house.

Ye right, i have yet to see ONE smoker on their own, they are usually in their gang, going at it like chimneys, and singing songs about m*nich. I bet you are a smoker.

I smoke but dont in the stadium as i wouldnt on a plane, in a train station, restaurant etc, its called abiding by the rules, not being a goody goody, just not being a knobhead and having a bit of respect.

I won't even take my lad. Can't be arsed having to shove smokers away from troughs swimming in piss to let him go to the toilet while he chokes his own lungs up.
