I'll be frigging amazed if Wesley takes a lower salary to move to the scum. He must have an idea what the great white Pele is on and I'd be fucked if I'd take any less than my current salary if I was him. The scum have no excuses in terms of revenue and turnover, they've got a good one in terms of debt however :-)

Can't see this coming off, can't see Utd paying £200k+/week wages for a 27 year old. If he does end up there they will have made a bloody good signing tho :-(
Yeh but it has been previously suggested they may get a third party sponsor (eg Nike?) to part pay his wages? Not sure if true?

Re: Gazzetta: Sneijder completes €36m move to City (continued)

the thing here is 35m for a 27 year old is affordable to us but not to utd, they can't write off that sort of money in 2 seasons like we can and thats all he will last with the riggers of the prem v his knees.
at 29 fergie will want rid and the return maybe 5-8m at best.

Ive heard similar things.. I dont understand how that fits with FFPR though. For example, couldnt we say that the "third party sponsor" Abu Dabhi Oil Group pays all of our players wages? Where is the line?

I know we wouldnt be allowed to do that, but, in theory, is there any difference?

If that happens then something tells me Etihad will be paying for a few salaries at our end. :-)
