Mark Williams cue sounds horrible, proper tinny,I'm surprised he can get any back spin...on another note I used to play on the same team as the referee rob Spencer a few years ago.im sure he was a copper at the time.

He hasn't played that well all tournament expect in little bursts. He's had a pretty favourable draw up to this point and always looked like he would struggle when the calibre of opponent goes up. Xintong is no joke.

Of course with O'Sullivan, you always fancy him to produce a session where he dominates, he's done it so many times. I'm just not sure he has it in him against a good opponent, when I look at how he's played this tournament.

He hasn't played competitive snooker in months and it shows. Once upon a time he was brilliant enough for that not to matter. Is he still?

I replied in the negative when someone suggested that Ronnie was the greatest. And quite a few on here got pretty whiffy about that. In terms of natural, god given talent, he's up there with Higgins and White; maybe even surpassed them. There's no argument, really, on that score. But I've never been convinced about his mentality. The nonsense with his cue back in january; could you see Hendry doing that? Of course, some will say that that shows character, and his will to win. So be it. A lot of sport in this era is played in the head.
 
They played an exhibition match between Davis and Taylor and a Q&A session with Ken Doherty

He’s a good player but that continual tap, tap, tap of his finger gets right on my goat.
 
I thought it’d be Trump in the final. Easy to underestimate Williams but he just keeps going, absolutely fantastic player.

Would prefer Williams and think him against Xintong would be some match.

Yeah, I think it's a great match up.

Both incredible ball potters (as is Trump), but I just think it'll be more fascinating to see the final we are getting

I wonder if Williams can "old man" him. Xintong is very good, but now he's coming up against one of the great players who is actually playing brilliantly, unlike Ronnie.

Williams has decades of experience in every kind of game against every kind of opponent and will be comfortable in any kind of game. I wonder if he will drag the Xintong into the kind of game he doesn't want.

It's that rock hard tip he plays with. Like a brick. Perfect for him though!
