We do sometimes drive to over there via the chunnel in winter so we do have them

The problem with this country is any bad weather it's do next to nought! Because it will be gone in a few days or so! Just like the floods that there is a lot more of now and more frequent, all they do is put temporary things into place like pumps barriers! There is no clear thinking in government for the last 30+ years! It's all about short term with it all!

Joking apart, the cabin crew were briefed about the possibility of being diverted elsewhere when they were in Cancun, the two flights following them were sent to Ireland. Manchester airport is rated poor for a reason.

Said on the news that there was a severe danger to life and not to go out. When I was six I saw worse conditions and went out. It then proceeded to show people cold water swimming in Bristol harbour. This country is a joke with their inability to cope in moderately difficult situations. The rag dipper game is under threat as the snow is too much for the poor mites to deal with. I saw an NFL game the other week where the fans had to dig their way to their seats in Buffalo

Snow chains were quite common in the fifties. Why did they disappear?
