It's bloody cold here in Oldham :-( Had some flurries of snow but it hasn't stuck yet (at least not in the town centre). Bet it has higher up though.

I suspect Met Office et al give a worst case scenario forecast to cover potential legal action if they underestimate snow, wind, rain intensity etc.

They're running scared in a compensation culture.
Naming storms in alphabetical order is just about all they do correctly nowadays.

It either won't stick because it's too cold/joists are wet or it won't stop oozing out of the tube because it's too hot.
