thats the whole problem with defensive midfielders, its about counter acting the oppos percieved threats, and what a lot of blues on here have a gripe about mancini's negative approach. don't get me wrong here jones is a good player but hardly earth shattering. we should have had silva on causing them more problems which would of stunted jones's more forward play. its time for the more positive approach.

your missing the point, yaya was unable to gamble due to legs one hundred and eleven aka viera, and i'd say jones at 19 is showing enough potential to be regarded as a huge prospect. Barry rightly balanced the midfield up, but didnt rectify the problem, de jong allows yaya to be effective where he's going to be most dangerous for us, the final 3rd.

Well, you beat me to it, so... yeah!

i get your point re paddy but i still think we set out to counter act rather than act. playing silva offensively would give them more problems defensively than anyone of ndj/barry/ya ya/paddy could ever do. and that i maintain would have nullified jones threat. we just have to get silva's creativity in the team.

and as i have said before who drops out for silva?

yes we did miss him. Dispite Vieira scoring he still had a shocker and im not saying get him out hes a bag of wank etc because he has done brilliant at this club.

Got Micah playing properly and has somehow changed the lads attitude.

Hes obviusly helping Mario Balotelli settle in to Manchester and he is also Mancini's link between the players and himself.

But yes we did miss BIG Nige.

Anyone know what the problem was?

NDJ doesn't get dead legs, his leg just became so alive that the legs of everyone else on the pitch would have died from shame. He wasn't allowed to play on health and safety grounds.

very good, very good

I would say yes we did miss him. He does the breaking up play bit the best. We were far too slow in the build up play and with Vierra and Yaya looking too slow to push on and nervous to open up, that reassurance NDJ provides was lacking. Mancini must learn that at home we have to be dominant as well as making progress the fans let it be-known that we don't have the patience for that continental style of cautious play. NDJ + Barry + Yaya 2 from the 3 not all 3 on at the same time!

De Jongs the engine in the midfield that is needed if you ask me. I think this season at home maybe a extra forward up front with Tevez from the off will be better to team up with Tevez. We were at home lets try and set out a formation that is a little bit more attack minded. As for Vieria apart from the goal he found the pace of the game a bit hard. Thats the reason why I was shocked he got a new contract. We need to add a more creative feel to the midfield if you ask me from the central area. I would even give Silva a chance in behind the forwards we need something different and are still lacking creative play from the central area it seems those problems will be harder to fix than we expected.
