apparently yes.

But who knows, negotiation take long time, efforts and subject to many transitions. He may accept the offer and continue as a City Player.

The question is whether Nigel de Jong is replaceable or indispensable?

He is without doubt a great defensive midfielder, probably one of the best, altough he has some limitations especially when it comes to provision of the required support to the front line.

His contribution last year was immense due to the conservative play style adopted by Mancini, while with the current attacking style his level of importance and thus contribution decreased gradually.

I prefer to keep him, unless we are bringing some one who is better in the summer.

I think we've moved on as a team, and NDJ no longer has the tools needed to take us to the next level.

Our next defensive MF's will have to provide more than just protection to the centre of defence - they'll need to link the defence with the attack. Unfortunately, NDJ has limited technical skills.

agreed with this, presently he only seems to be able to knock the ball sideways or backwards. Not really the type of player bobby wants, think personally he needs a DM who can build play from his role rather than slow it down....and defo not worthy of £100k a week in my humble opinion!

He has started 4 games in the prem all season and we have hardly struggled
