Thank fuck for that. The only purpose that thread served was to prevent any decent disucssion about Lescott and his transfer to City. What's the score with things like that from here on in though? Are we gonna see an end to all points and views from different times and situations lumped together in one huge thread full of shit, or can we continue to expect more of the same?

It happened with the Tevez thread, then the Eto'o thread, then the Terry thread and finally the Lescott thread, It'll keep happening.

The large threads get so off topic that pretty much anyone feels that they can spam them with shit, fights break out, opinions clash and keyboard warriors go at it like horny puppys. It's human nature to fight and argue, can't be stopped.

It was a joke mate. I agree with you apart from the stopping it part.

It can be stopped, but it requires alot of effort, censorship and manpower. Depending on which platform (real world, internet) it occurs alters the difficulty of stopping it. e.g. Internet warriors can be stamped out with censorship, but how far do you go? do you ban the odd word, phrase or restrict users to a time limit so each post has to be read properly, thus being reported by members (like 606) or do you do what China has done, blanket restrictions and possibly cause a forum to die from over censorship. Thus causing people to look elsewhere.

Delicate balance.

You report it to the mods and hope they have the cojones to make the correct judgement.

Indeed, that is done. But the mods are people too, they have real life things to take care of, they don't get paid to moderate (take the shit that they do) and they can't be around 100% of the time.

Perhaps they can't be there all the time but eventually they will catch up and sort it out.
