What engine is in your Mondeo?
I've been considering an ecoboost petrol as diesel drivers are becoming the new smokers

Had a 159 V6 previously and liked it and in the market for something new. Really like the Giulia think it’s a great looking car and different from most of the other cars out there. Any negatives? Which engine have you got in it ?

If you're in the market I couldn't put you off a Giulia. Lovely cars but with every car, it depends what you want from it. I do a lot of commuting so I wanted something 'fun' to drive but economical. I had a 320D before it and although 61mpg was impressive, I was utterly bored. Giulia gets me about 45mpg, in the 2.2 180bhp diesel. The DNA switch is useful if you want to mix up your driving experience, I have mine in A most of the time as that's the most economical setting, N is basically Normal, and D is just sheer fun.

If economy is what you want, there are better diesels for sure. If sport and fun is what you're after, go for a Petrol but if you're kinda in the middle it's perfect. The only real negative is the infotainment system is quite basic. The Nav is good, but media options are limited. They've added Apple Carplay/Android Auto from the 2018 range, mines March 2017.

The automatic is super smooth whilst still being fun in the different modes, and the steering wheel shift paddles add to the fun. For a diesel you want the Speciale trim, for more bells and whistles. Veloce for Petrol. Quadrifoglio if you've got the budget, around £60k and 16mpg! Can pick up a used 18 plate speciale for 25-30k with delivery mileage or 36k ish brand new.

Not sure what happened at Alfa but when they brought out the Giulietta, Mito and now Giulia and Stelvio, they've had a real turnaround from their old reputation which still sticks in most people's minds admittedly. Those issues are 20 years+ old now and their new fleet are seriously impressive cars.

Yaris from new about 9 years ago, it was originally a PUS vehicle that I chose from new when still in the Civil Service.

My intention was to buy it afterwards if I liked it and I did. Running as new still with 110k on the clock.

BMW 520d. Company car. Goes back in Sept looking at the Discovery Sport except no one at the dealership in Stockport seems to want to sell one!
