you are right, of course it should be kept. i was just pointing out why we actually have it, gossip and speculation. it isn't called the nailed on he's signed thread.
And that's fair enough Bill. However, there seems to be a sense that TH gets preferential treatment if something he says doesn't come off whereas others get to feel the force of the ban hammer.
I'm not saying you should ban TH as well, more a case of don't ban anyone if something that gets posted doesn't come to fruition. Unless it's blatant wummery that we can all see through of course.

Have some strict rules and enforce them.
I've said on numerous occasions that I know for a fact that "ordinary folk" can get genuine information from a variety of sources connected to the club (i.e. not off the TV or internet) and then post it in here. I know that because I know where Uwe Rosler's Grandad used to get info but, more importantly, I know where I used to get info from. I used to get info because my brother and his family became good enough friends of the Hamann family to holiday with them in their Austrian villa; all because they had daughters in the same class at school.
We got a fair bit of info and opinion from Didi, some of which I used (on the MEN mainly but I shared it with URG), some of which I wasn't allowed to use, but I would never reveal the source whilst it existed. Most of the transfer info that cam my way from that source came to nothing, even deadline day stuff like Corradi being part of the deal to sign Mido.
To reiterate, people do get info but it doesn't always come to anything and it's usually a waste of time asking for their sources.

FBloke gets a torrent of abuse and recieves no protection as somebody else said. Why so precious about Tolmie? I like TH but his cryptic clues open him up for such abuse. Vague posts about players who fo the heart thing, everyone Bale and he meant Alacantra. Whhy not 2 vids like a Flamenco dance and then the Heart video? Hazard was way off and we pulled out week before Chelsea signed him yet we were told we were right in for him. I'm not knocking TH but I will say he jumps the gun by posting premature info. We've been linked with Muller, Lowandowski, Alacantra, Cheick Tiote (Cheick he posted before), RVP and were told Bombs were imminent. Little has happened and yet mods scratch their heads why people are sceptical and frustrated. Yet again I reaffirm TH is a sound poster by my reckoning but if he was on the pull and his efforts so far were to go by then he'd be going by himself with his right hand looking very attractive.
Let's not forget TH is only as good as his source btw, any personal attacks show lack of intellect in looking at the bigger picture. City are running a tight ship now and maybe TH 'bulletproof info' (Damocles said) has become blank info and info intended to b leaked with half truths to throw sent off.
As for transfers, I predict a frenzy as window closes, across the board too.
i'd like to think all posters in the transfer forum are "protected" but thats as it should be for any poster on any forum. if fbloke or anyone else posts a rumour he should not be abused(a liitle strong that word) and belittled. its just gossip and that has to be embraced by the members. its no biggy if a player ends up going elsewhere. i dont like th vids either, maybe cos i'm wooden and can't follow them, i do however understand he can't name names at certain points of negotiations.
i do agree that the mods have been lax in the weaning out the nasty posts, i know i have. i hope to improve on that.

I agree with this. Although I have reservations about how TH conveys his info, no-one should be putting money on it no matter how nailed on it looks.

Yep.
Whatever punishment is meted out, let the consequences be felt by those engaging in the ITK stuff. There are lots of people out here who intentionally avoid ITK fights because we're not interested in it, neither the info nor the resulting conflict. It's nothing to do with us, the It's Quiet thread has a life of its own separate from the rest of the Transfer Forum IMHO.
